this is a garden...
this is a garden on drugs...
Tim built me this nice planter box for a raised garden. We planted everything mid May. I cant imagine how big everything will be by the end of the summer. I just thought I'd go out today and take some fun pictures of all the green we have.
and a pretty rose...
and here, we have where used to lay a watermelon plant... up until YESTERDAY. I have no idea what happened to it. It is completly gone... GONE! Explain that!
The birdies have been gettin wild in this Corona bucket... that is now used as a, ahem... birdbath. Ok, I have a little hillbilly in me. Its my mom's fault!
and just a few more randoms...
HAVE A HAPPY WEEKEND EVERYBODY!!!

the dangerous life of...
ROCK HUNTING! I took these pictures of Allie a couple weeks ago when we went on a rock hunt. And when I say rock hunt, I mean a walk around the block, stealing rocks out of our neighbors yards. Allie has this "bike" that has a little basket in the front... perfect for rocks. She dressed herself...
I had to take Kole to the dr. this morning because he's got another ear infection (or probably the last one just never went away). I just took him in 2 weeks ago for the same thing. Poor little guy. Not such a happy camper today... Although this smile would lead you to believe differently...

2nd child syndrome...
a simple thing such as brushing your teeth...
who knew it could be SUCH A BIG DEAL! Ok, Allie will be 2 just next month (yikes!) and I just now thought of brushing her teeth. Yes, I know this should have started awhile ago but thats just the kind of mom I am... not saying Im a bad one. So while grocery shopping I picked her up some kiddy toothpaste and I let her pick out her own tooth brush. After prying the adult extra wide, extra stiff brissle one out of her hand, she settled on a bright green kiddy tooth brush with "vroom-vrooms" on it(i.e. Trains). I tried to help her and show her how to actually move the tooth brush back and forth on he teeth. She wasnt having it. I even tryed to show her how much fun it was to brush her tongue. Nope, not having any of it. Finally after 15 minutes of struggling with a toddler, I surrendered. What the hell, Im sure millions of kids have digested a whole bottle of tooth paste... right???

McCall...
This weekend Tim and I took the kids up to McCall. Tim's family has a beautiful place right on the lake and probably the best and biggest beach on the whole lake. The cabin was built in the 40's (I think). Its not one of those big ginormous mansions... but a smaller eclectic cabin. Very cute!
I took this picture on Friday night. It reminds me why we love the place so much.
Allie had been up there before but she was just a baby when we took her last summer. This year, being almost 2 she was able to actually enjoy the beach. The word "enjoy" is actually an understatment. She had so much fun!
Kole didnt quite have as much fun. He's teething so he spent a lot of time either sleeping or whining. Thank God gramma Val was there (thank you grandma Val!). Kole only made it down to the beach a few times. But the few times he was down their he really enjoyed it. He loved the feel of the wet sand in his toes and the water coming up and splashing him.
Tim had a little "liquid courage" and jumped in. I dont think he could fully breath right the rest of the day. He was the first to jump in this year (besides Cheyanne, our dog, of course!).
Someone else had a good time too. This dog lives for McCall. Tim and I decided that when she dies we will spread her ashes into the lake. Its not a fun thing to think about but she is nearly 10 years old so the time is probably coming in the next several years. She's such a good dog!
I had a great time too... except I dont have any pictures of me because I'm always the one behind the camera. I did have a couple of these though...
all in all... it was a great weekend!

Tornado rips through our backyard...
I'm not kidding! Yesterday was a rather pleasent day. Lots of sunshine, no rain, hardly any clouds in the sky and no wind.
I had just taken the kids outside to blow bubbles. We had maybe only been out there all of 3 minutes. Kole and I were sitting under our rot iron awning (sp?). All of a sudden, out of NO WHERE this HUGE gust of wind picked up (only in our backyard) and it lifted up our whole entire awning (this thing is 10x12) blew it up into the air, it flew over the fence and wraped itself around the front of our house! And it was over... just like that. Our tornado lasted all of 6 seconds. Just enough time to completly destroy our backyard and throw our awning 50 feet. It was the weirdest, scariest thing. And to top it off, Kole was sitting right underneith it and when it picked up off the ground, it completly dumped the water that was standing on the awning (from the previous rain the day before) and totally drenched him! To tell you the truth, it was a really scary event that could have ended very badly but thank God didnt. I was really shaken up afterwards. I still cant explain it. That awning has been through every rain & wind storm and has always held up and never showed any signs of flinging itself to its death. And the other totally weird thing is it ONLY hit our backyard. Everything in our front yard was fine, all of our neighbors yards were fine. Totally weird. Check out the damage... it even flung my hanging basket into our tree.
